A 6.00 a.m. start is the best. Boats are the best way to enjoy Kumarakom. Sensing this, the Kerala State Tourism Development Corporation is providing boating facilities.

The corporation is converting this place into a tourist complex adopting methods such as modifying traditional cargo boats called Kettuvalloms into cruise boats and house boats, with all basic facilities like kitchen, toilet, bathrooms, sit-outs etc.

These boats gracefully move around the backwaters, providing facilities for tourists to enjoy the beauty of the Vembanad lake in a relaxed pace.

Festivals
